Olympus

Any of several mountains in Greece and elsewhere, one of which is Mount Olympus in northern Thessaly, Greece, which is 2,918 m/9,577 ft high. The highest point in Greece, Mount Olympus was first ascended in 1913. In Greek mythology, the summit, which was often veiled by clouds, was the home of the Olympian gods. Later the name was also given to the more remote, heavenly palace of the gods.
