Buganda
| Either of two provinces (North and South Buganda) of Uganda, home of the Baganda people and formerly a kingdom from the 17th century. The former kabaka, or king, Edward Mutesa II (1924–1969), was the first president of independent Uganda 1963–66. He was deposed as monarch in 1966. |
| His son Ronald Mutebi (1955– ) is sabataka (head of the Baganda clans) and became king when the monarchy was restored in 1993. |
