Muldowney, Dominic

Muldowney, Dominic (1952– )

English composer. He studied with Jonathan Harvey at Southampton and with Birtwistle in London. In 1975 he was appointed assistant music director to Harrison Birtwistle at the Royal National Theatre, London, succeeding as director in 1981. His output includes music for many National Theatre productions; a realization of the Beggar's Opera (1982), and concertos for percussion, oboe, and trumpet (1991, 1991, 1993).
