Mullova, Viktoria (1959– )

Russian violinist. She made her debut aged 12 and studied with Kogan at the Moscow Conservatory. After winning the 1982 Tchaikovsky Competition, she left Russia to pursue a career in the West. She has undertaken concerts with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Philadelphia Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, and the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. Her virtuosity has been admired in the concertos of Sibelius, Shostakovich, Tchaikovsky, and Paganini.
