Mun, Thomas (1571–1641)

English writer on political economy and member of the committee of the East India Company. His works include A Discourse of Trade from England unto the West Indies (1621) and England's Treasure by Forraign Trade (written 1630, published 1664), a statement of the mercantilist doctrine of economic self-sufficiency by the creation of a favourable trade balance.
