Murphy, Suzanne (1941– )

Irish soprano. She studied in Dublin and sang with Welsh National Opera from 1976, as Constanze, Élisabeth de Valois, the Trovatore Leonora, Norma, Violetta, and Elvira in Ernani and I Puritani. In 1989 she sang Alice Ford in Falstaff with the Welsh National Opera in New York and Milan. For the English National Opera ensemble has sung Donna Anna and Tosca (1992); for the the Vienna Staatsoper Mozart's Elettra (1987); and for the New York City Opera Norma.
