Murschhauser, Franz Xaver Anton (1663–1738)

Alsatian composer. He was a pupil of Kerl at Munich, where he became Kapellmeister at the church of Our Lady. In 1721, by a remark made in his treatise on composition, ‘Academia musico-poetica’, he came into conflict with Johann Mattheson.
