Musial, Stan(ley) Frank (1920- )

US baseball player. During his playing career of 22 years with the St Louis Cardinals, he led the National League 6 times in hits, 8 times in doubles, 5 times in triples, and 7 times in batting average. He played his last season in 1963 and was hired by the Cardinals as an executive.

Born in Donora, Pennsylvania, USA, Musial was an outstanding high-school athlete and was signed by the St Louis Cardinals in 1938 and played as a Cardinal outfielder and first baseman from 1941.

Musial was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1969.
