Musselburgh

Town and former burgh in East Lothian unitary authority, Scotland, situated at the mouth of the River Esk on the Firth of Forth, 8 km/5 mi east of Edinburgh; population (2001) 22,100. It is a prosperous market gardening centre, and also has diverse industries, including the manufacture of nets, twine, wire, and paper. Recreational facilities include a number of fine golf links.
