Mussenden Temple

Circular, domed temple in the grounds of the ruined Downhill Castle, Castlerock, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. It is surrounded by Corinthian columns and is sited on a cliff top overlooking the Atlantic. The temple was built in 1783 by Frederick Hervey, 4th Earl of Bristol and Earl Bishop of Derry, and it contained a library. The entrance gates are inspired by the Roman monument at St Rémy, France.
