Myers, Rollo H

Myers, Rollo H(ugh) (1892–1985)

English critic and writer on music. Educated privately and at Oxford, he had a year at the Royal College of Music, London in London. He was music correspondent to The Times and the Daily Telegraph in Paris 1919–34; on the BBC staff in London, 1935–44; and was music officer for the British Council in Paris, 1945–46. He edited Chesterian from 1947 and Music Today from 1949 and published Modern Music, Music in the Modern World, Erik Satie, and Debussy; he also composed songs.
