Napier, William Francis Patrick (1785-1860)

Irish soldier and historian. He joined an Irish regiment in 1800 and fought in Denmark in 1807 and in the Peninsular War against Napoleon in Spain and Portugal in 1808. He published a History of the War in the Peninsula (1828-40).
