Nardini, Pietro (1722–1793)

Italian violinist and composer. He was a solo violinist at the ducal court of Württemberg at Stuttgart 1762–65, then settled at Livorno and in 1769 at Florence as music director to the ducal court of Tuscany.

He studied at Livorno and later with Giuseppe Tartini at Padua.

Orchestral

six violin concertos (published in Amsterdam about 1765 as Op. 1); six string quartets; sonatas for violin, two violins, solo, and duets for violins; trios for flute, violin, and bass.
