nautiloid

Fossil cephalopod mollusc with a straight or coiled chambered shell, and gently curved transverse septa. They range from Upper Cambrian to Recent periods. Nautilus is the only living representative.

Classification

Nautiloids comprise the subclass Nautiloidea in class Cephalopoda, phylum Mollusca.
