Naylor, Bernard (1907–1986)

English composer, conductor, and organist. He studied at the Royal College of Music in London with Vaughan Williams and Holst; he conducted in Winnipeg and Montréal from 1932, and settled in Canada in 1959.

Works Orchestral 12 motets in two sets (1949, 1952); The Annunciation according to St Luke for soloists, chorus, and orchestra (1949); Variations for orchestra (1960); string trio (1960); Stabat Mater (1961); The Nymph and the Faun for mezzo and ensemble (text by Marvell, 1965); Three Sacred Pieces for chorus and orchestra (1971).
