NeXT Technology Inc

US computer manufacturer founded by Steve Jobs in 1985. NeXT's first product was an advanced workstation, the NeXT Cube, aimed at the higher education market. It sold poorly and NeXT abandoned hardware manufacturing to become a software company, Next Software Inc. This was taken over by Apple Computer for $400 million at the end of 1996.
