Neblett, Carol (1946– )

US soprano. She studied at the University of California at Los Angeles and made her stage debut with the New York City Opera in 1969, as Musetta. Her Chicago and Vienna Staatsoper debuts were made in 1975 and 1976 as Chrysothemis and Minnie; she first appeared in London at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden in 1977. She performed at the Metropolitan Opera House, New York from 1979 as Senta, Tosca, Amelia (Un ballo in maschera), Manon Lescaut, and Alice Ford. Other roles include Norma (Miami Opera), Aïda (Cincinnati), and Mozart's Vitellia, in a filmed version of La Clemenza di Tito.
