Neepawa

Town in southwestern Manitoba; population (1991) 3,300. Neepawa lies on the Whitemud River, 56 km/35 mi northeast of Brandon.

Situated on both the Canadian Pacific and Canadian National railway networks, Neepawa is a major transportation hub for the surrounding agricultural region's cereals and livestock. Other industries here include woodworking and marble cutting. The Beautiful Plains County Court Building, a designated heritage site, is located in the town. Every July, the Manitoba Holiday Festival of the Arts is held here.
