Negeri Sembilan
| State of southwestern Peninsular Malaysia, on the Strait of Malacca; area 6,646 sq km/2,565 sq mi; population (2000 est) 830,100. The capital is Seremban. It is mainly mountainous. There is some tin mining in western areas of the state, though its importance is declining. Rice cultivation, much of it for subsistence, is widespread, especially in the low-lying valleys, but rubber is the chief cash crop. |
