Former racial classification, based on physical features, used to describe the indigenous peoples of sub-Saharan Africa and some of the nearby islands in the Indian Ocean and the western Pacific. See race.

This man was of a moderate size, and with a black negroid face.
But the feature of them that made the most startling impression upon their prisoner was their white skins--neither in color nor feature was there a trace of the negroid about them.
Their skins were very black, and their features much like those of the more pronounced Negroid type except that the head receded more rapidly above the eyes, leaving little or no forehead.
