Negroponte, Nicholas

    0.02 sec.

Negroponte, Nicholas

US founder and the director of the MIT Media Lab and columnist for Wired magazine.

In 1996 he published Being Digital, in which he makes an analogy between that bits of data (‘the DNA of information’) and atoms of matter. Negroponte also predicted that mass media such as newspapers and television will give way to consumer-led electronic media in which people will take only the information they need. In 2005 Negroponte announced the $100 laptop, designed to provide computer access for students in the developing world.
