Nelson, (Eric Hilliard) Rick(y) (1940–1985)

US popular singer. Nelson was born in Teaneck, New Jersey. He sang on his parents' television show, The adventures of Ozzie and Harriet, in 1957, and that year had his first hit songs ‘I'm Walking’ and ‘A Teenager's Romance’. In the late-1950s and early-1960s his hits were regularly on the radio. After a decline in his popularity, his single, ‘Garden Party’ (1972), sold over a million copies. He died in a plane crash.
