Neoptolemus

In Greek mythology, son of Achilles and Deidamia. After the death of his father, he and Odysseus conducted the Trojan hero Philoctetes to Troy. He entered the city in the wooden horse, killed the Trojan king Priam at the altar of Zeus, and sacrificed Priam's daughter Polyxena to the spirit of his father. Hector's wife, Andromache, was awarded to him as his concubine.

After the fall of Troy he settled in Epirus, where he became ancestor of the Molossian kings and married Hermione, daughter of Menelaus. He was killed in a quarrel at the shrine of Delphi.
