Nergal

Assyrio-Babylonian god of war and hunting, identified with the Sun in its adverse effects as the bringer of pestilence and fire, and ruler of the underworld with his consort Ereskigal, ‘mistress of death’. He was symbolized by a winged lion and had an entourage of 14 monstrous demons.

Nergal was also associated with the planet Mars, and he was the city god of Cutha, in central Babylonia.

This new sound is full of blast beats, crushing riffs, and the harshest vocals Nergal (yeah, laugh at his name) has ever recorded.
Among specific topics are African Bushman mythology, the European dragon slayer, Hermes, Persian magi, Nergal from Sumaria and Babylon, tail types, tale types, and William Tell.
And if Nergal was embodying, in the old solar or sabean religion, either the Sun, of the Earth, or the Leo constellation, or, finally, the Hydra constellation, his servant was embodiyng a constellation which remains next to these figures at that very moment.
