Neugebauer, Otto (died 1990)

Austrian-born astronomer and mathematical historian. Fleeing Nazism in Austria, he moved to the USA (1939) to teach at Brown University where he became known as a devoted teacher, mathematical and astrological historian, and founder of Mathematical Reviews. A member of the National Academy of Sciences, he was an intensely private man.
