Washington, Oct 1 (ANI): A combination of two commonly prescribed drugs offers a much more effective treatment for people with debilitating neuropathic pain than if they take either of the medications individually, according to a study by Queen's University researchers.
BACKGROUND Neuropathic pain (NeP) is defined by the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP) as pain arising as a direct consequence of a lesion or disease affecting the somatosensory system (Loeser and Treede, 2008).
This gives us a strong position in the development of products for multiple pain types, including neuropathic pain that alone has a market potential estimated to more than 3.
