Neusidler, Melchior (1531–1590)

German lutenist, son of Hans Neusidler. He settled in Augsburg in 1552. He visited Italy and published two books of lute music in Venice in 1566. His next book was printed in Strasbourg: the Teutsch Lautenbuch (1574), which contained music by Josquin, Lassus, Arcadelt, Rore, and others arranged for the lute. He also published lute arrangements of six motets by Josquin in 1584.
