New City

Village and seat of Rockland County, in the southeast of New York State, 8 km/5 mi northwest of Nyack; population (1990) 33,700.

Physically, New City is attached to the town of Clarkstown , but remains administratively separate from it. Situated 42 km/26 mi north of Manhattan, the village is primarily a residential suburb of New York City. DeForest Lake lies to the east.
