New Hope

City in Hennepin County, southeastern Minnesota, 11 km/7 mi northwest of Minneapolis; population (1990) 21,900. New Hope is chiefly a residential suburb of Minneapolis, but has undergone some commercial development in recent decades.

New Hope

Borough in Bucks County, southeastern Pennsylvania; population (1990) 1,400. New Hope lies on the Delaware River, 26 km/16 mi northwest of Trenton, New Jersey.

New Hope is a popular tourist destination, with its artists' colony and programme of summer theatre. The painter Joseph Pickett (1848–1918) spent his entire life here. The settlement of Washington Crossing lies 10 km/6 mi to the southeast.
