Newry and Mourne

Administrative region in the south of Northern Ireland, with a border with the Republic of Ireland, serving an area in the south of County Down; area 898 sq km/347 sq mi; population (2001) 87,100. The towns under the council's remit include Newry, Rostrevor, Bessbrook, Warrenpoint, and Kilkeel. The principal sources of employment include agriculture, pharmaceuticals, retail, and tourism.
