Newtonian telescope

In astronomy, simple reflecting telescope in which light collected by a parabolic primary mirror is directed to a focus at the side of the tube by a flat secondary mirror placed at 45 degrees to the optical axis. It is named after English physicist and mathematician Isaac Newton, who constructed such a telescope in 1668.
