Niceville

City in Okaloosa County, northwestern Florida; population (1990) 10,500. Niceville lies on Choctawhatchee Bay, in the Panhandle, 72 km/45 mi east-northeast of Pensacola.

Niceville is surrounded on three sides by Eglin Air Force Base, and the city's economy is heavily dependent upon military personnel and tourism. Okaloosa–Walton Community College (founded 1963) is sited here.
