Nicomachus of Thebes

Nicomachus of Thebes (lived c. 400 BC)

Greek painter. Although none of his works survive, his reputation in antiquity was very high, his paintings being praised by the Roman writers Cicero and Pliny. Works attributed to him include versions of Apollo and Artemis and The Rape of Proserpine.
