Nimba Mountains

    0.01 sec.

Nimba Mountains

One of several massifs of the Guinea Highlands, on the border between Liberia and Guinea. Exploitation of iron ore began again in the late 1990s on the Liberian side, with increased production likely. There are considerable concerns about the environmental impact of further mining, highlighted by the inclusion of the Nimba Mountains on UNESCO's World Heritage List.
