Niobe

In Greek mythology, the daughter of Tantalus and wife of Amphion, the king of Thebes. She died of grief when her seven sons and seven daughters were killed by Apollo and Artemis; the two gods were angered by her contempt of their mother Leto for producing only two children. Zeus transformed Niobe to a rock on Mount Sipylus, Lydia, which shed tears in the summer.
