Nissan Motor Company

Japanese car manufacturer founded in 1933, initially marketing under the name of Datsun. Following heavy trading losses during the 1990s, Nissan entered into a cross-shareholding alliance in 1999 with French motor manufacturer Renault, entailing a major restructuring. By 2005 Renault-Nissan sales accounted for almost 10% of the worldwide motor vehicles market.

NISSAN Motors India Pvt Ltd is yet to finalise the location for its fifth car manufacturing unit, which will operate on its V platform.
A Chinese joint venture involving Japan's Nissan Motors will recall nearly 52,000 cars in China due to safety defects in the steering system, the country's product-quality watchdog said.
They included President and GEO Nissan Motors Carlos Ghosn, former Japanese Prime Minister Abi Titmuss, former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohammed, former Irish President Mary Robinson, and former Canadian Prime Minister Jan Christian.
