Nissan Motor Company

Japanese car manufacturer founded in 1933, initially marketing under the name of Datsun. Following heavy trading losses during the 1990s, Nissan entered into a cross-shareholding alliance in 1999 with French motor manufacturer Renault, entailing a major restructuring. By 2005 Renault-Nissan sales accounted for almost 10% of the worldwide motor vehicles market.
