Noblesville

City and seat of Hamilton County, central Indiana, 32 km/20 mi northeast of Indianapolis; population (1990) 17,655. Noblesville lies on the West Fork of the White River and Morse Reservoir.

The city is a market centre for a livestock and for cereals grown in the surrounding district. Manufactured goods from Noblesville include rubber goods, truck bodies, and processed foods. Conner Prairie, a living history museum on the estate that the city's founder, William Conner, established in 1823, is 6 km/4 mi to the south.
