Nordau, Max Simon (1849–1923)

Hungarian physician and author. He practised medicine in Budapest and later settled in Paris as a physician. Turning to literature, he wrote novels and plays in a satirical vein to illustrate his social theories. He is more widely remembered for his work with Theodor Herzl as a leading theoretician of political Zionism.
