Norden, Denis (1922– )

English scriptwriter and broadcaster. His successful 17-year partnership with the British humorist, scriptwriter, and broadcaster Frank Muir, included the radio series Take It From Here (1947–58) and Bedtime with Braden (1950–54). Later Norden presented selected film clips of media mishaps on It'll Be All Right On The Night (from 1977), and in 1991 his Laughter File was listed among the most popular television programmes of the year.

He was born in Hackney, London, and served in the RAF during World War II. After starting his writing career in a variety agency, he teamed up with Muir to write comedy scripts and books. He also wrote several series with or for the comedian Jimmy Edwards.
