Normal

City in McLean County, central Illinois; population (1990) 40,000. It is located to the northeast of Bloomington Dominated by Illinois State University (1857), it is also a processing and trading centre for the region's corn, oats, wheat, nursery stock, and livestock. Industries include a large Chrysler-Mitsubishi auto plant, canning, and tire manufacturing. Evergreen Lake is 11 km/7 mi to the north.
