Village within Babylon town, Suffolk County, in southeastern New York State; population (1990) 13,900.

North Amityville lies on the South Shore of Long Island, just north of Copiague and Amityville, and 51 km/32 mi east-southeast of Manhattan. A mainly residential district, it is situated immediately east of the Nassau-Suffolk border and south of Republic Airport.
