North Hempstead

Town in Nassau County, southeastern New York State; population (1990) 211,400. North Hempstead is situated on the North Shore of Long Island, immediately northeast of the New York City borough of Queens. It includes such suburban communities as Manhasset, Roslyn, Great Neck, and Port Washington.
