Norton

Town in North Yorkshire, England, on the River Derwent, 28 km/17 mi northeast of York; population (2001) 6,900. Racehorses are trained here.

Norton

Town in Bristol County, southeastern Massachusetts, 18 km/11 mi southwest of Brockton; population (2000 est) 2,700. Essentially rural, it is a residential community for Providence, Worcester, and Boston, and has some light industry. It was established in 1710 as part of Taunton, became part of Easton in 1725, part of Mansfield in 1770, and was incorporated as Norton in 1771.

It is the site of Wheaton College (1834).

Norton

City in Summit and Wayne counties, northern Ohio, a residential suburb of Akron lying 10 km/6 mi southwest of the city centre; population (1990) 11,500. Lake Dorothy is just to its southwest.
