Norton, Thomas

Norton, Thomas (1532–1584)

English dramatist. He collaborated with Thomas Sackville in the composition of the tragedy Gorboduc (1561).

Norton was born in London. He became a lawyer and entered Parliament in 1558. In 1571 he was appointed to the office of Remembrancer of the City of London (a kind of envoy to Parliament).
