Norway House

Indian reserve in central Manitoba, on Little Playgreen Lake (the Nelson River), northeast of Lake Winnipeg; population (1991) 2,800. In the 18th and 19th centuries, Norway House was a major trading post for the Hudson's Bay Company's fur trade with the Cree and Assiniboine peoples. About 500 non-American Indians live in this close-knit community.

As his condition stabilized, preparations were made to properly accommodate his needs for his eventual return to Norway House.
Presently, Greyhound provides daily service between Cross Lake First Nation and Norway House Cree Nation, and with family members in both communities, it's a valuable and convenient means of transportation.
