Italian dramatist. He was greatly influenced by Molière and Carlo Goldoni and followed these models very closely. Of his 40 or so plays, the most popular were I primi passi al mal costume/The First Steps to Folly 1808, La lusinghiera 1818, and La novella sposa 1827.
