Oakeley, Herbert (Stanley) (1830–1903)

English organist, educationist, and composer. He was educated at Rugby and Oxford, and studied music in London, Dresden, and Leipzig. He became Professor of Music at Edinburgh University in 1865 and Doctor of Music (Cantuar.) in 1871. He was knighted in 1876.
