working conditions

The physical environment in which a worker has to work, as well as the way workers are expected to complete their tasks. For example, working conditions include heat and light in the workplace, availability of toilets, noise levels, the degree of danger in the job, hours of work, the size of the team of workers, how repetitive a task is, and whether or not the worker is able to vary the pattern of work. Working conditions are important in determining the motivation of workers.
