She won the 2007 British Women's Open at St Andrews in Scotland and finished the year with eight tournament victories and a record mark of over US$4 million in prize money. | After topping the money list on the 2002 Futures Tour, with three tournament wins, she turned professional and joined the LPGA Tour the following year. In her rookie season, she had eight top-ten finishes and was twice runner-up, and in 2004 she became the first Mexican to win on the LPGA Tour. She also finished in the top ten in three of the four major championships. After a quiet 2005, she topped the money list in both 2006 and 2007, and was named LPGA Player of the Year in each of those years. |
