Odenwald
| Mountainous region of southwest Germany, stretching across parts of Hesse, Baden-Württemberg, and Bavaria. The Odenwald lies south of the River Main. The chief peaks are Katzenbuckel (626 m/2,053 ft), Neunkircher Hohe (605 m/1,982 ft), and the Krahberg (600 m/1,968 ft). The region is densely forested, with many old castles. |
